A Success Unimagined in Common Hours

Yesterday morning, I sensed it. The air outside was a few degrees cooler than expected. Brushing away the leaves that had fallen from the rabid, house-eating vine permanently residing on our property, I finally took time to relax on the chaise lounge with my cup of java. Frequently I find myself making the coffee and then rushing directly to my keyboard, oblivious to the world around me — but not yesterday. I all but melted into the chaise, basking in contentment. The warm sunlight and a shy breeze played across my skin. The only disruptions were the sound of the pugs terrorizing butterflies and shadows in the backyard and the occasional geese flying overhead. I have been endlessly rummaging around in my cluttered imagination in search of the perfect blog topic… that one elusive blog post that finally gets “Freshly Pressed” and goes wildly viral across the interwebs. This is every blogger’s dream! Notoriety! Fame! Fortune! But after much thought, I have given up. In fact, I have concluded that these hopes should be immediately crushed whenever they surface within my brain. This will surely not be a popular sentiment, but I even suspect that such thinking may be the first sign of a mediocre or possibly failed writing career…
